Towards the west,
making a left turn at the canal’s bridge,
we reach the area of Perlia.
The road
continues on the coast, passing by Villa
Galini, Mikro
Neorio and reaches Megalo
Neorio. A little further
down is the
Love's Bay and the Russian
Dockyard,
where the ruins of the warehouses
of
the Russian fleet are. Across the
Russian
Dockyard is the island Daskalio.
In
Perlia and Neorio you will find
hotels,
rooms or apartments to rent and
taverns
on the seafront. You will find
a pool bar and watersports in Neorio
also.

To the right of
the canal, the road goes to Kanali beach
and heading east will take us to the
coastal area Askeli. Then the road takes
us to the Monastery
of Zoodohos Pygi.
Shortly before the monastery, to the
right, is a side road which leads us
to the beach of the Monastery. Kanali
and Askeli offer hotels, rooms or apartments
and taverns on the waterfront.
Also,
Askeli has a cafe, snack bar, beach bar,
pool bar and watersports. In the Monastery’s
zone, there is a hotel with a cafe and
restaurant right on the sea and a tavern
on the beach.

The sunsets in
Poros are amazing! Especially
from the west coast of Poros, the view
towards the mountains of "Kimomeni" (meaning
Sleeping Beauty) when the sun sets, is
more than remarkable. Any visitor who
wants to enjoy the sunset even more,
you can go to St.
Athanasios, located
on the hilltop, which Poros was built
on, left of Milo.
From there, you will
see amazing colors in the sky facing
the sea as the sun sets behind the mountains
of "Kimomeni". The view of
the sea channel of Poros and the adjacent
coasts is marvelous.

After Sinikismos
and along the spiral road, we arrive
at the Chapel of
Our Lady of Agia Zoni and
then come across the church
of Agios Stathis. To the
left, we go down to Foussa and Vagionia,
while just ahead is Palatia,
where the Temple
of Poseidon stands.
The
same road continues and as you go
downhill, the road branches out to the
left leading to the Monastery and
to the right reaching Askeli.
Finally returning to Kanali as you
make a right turn on the canal bridge,
you will come across
Perlia and continuing
along the coast, you will pass by Villa
Galini, Mikro
Neorio and reach Megalo
Neorio.
Further down are the Love's
Bay and
the Russian
Dockyard along with
the
isle, Daskalio.

The houses and hotels on the beach are
big and neoclassical in contrast to the
simple but very picturesque two-story
homes in Brinia, Milo, Punta and Kastelli.
The
white stone blocks of houses with tiled
roofs that go down to the sea or climb
up to the foothills of cliffs with monuments
and statues of heroes, create and provide
an eternal charm for the island. The
sight of the waterway of Poros is lovely,
with yachts, sailboats and vessels going
in and out of the blue waters of the
small harbor’s bay, between the beach
of Poros and Galata.

Approaching Poros by boat, from far
away, its Historical
Clock stands out
on the highest hilltop. Regarded as the
city jewel, it’s surrounded by pine and
prickly pear trees.
The view of Poros is panoramic, as we approach the island,
watching people coming and going to the beach or sitting
in the shops and boats, big and small, anchored at the pier
of the harbor.

The beach of Poros starts from Stavro
and ends up at the west pier of the
new port. Aligned along the beach, the
visitor sees plenty of tourist shops,
travel agencies, cafes, restaurants,
taverns, grill houses, many bars with
Greek and foreign music and the local
movie theatre.
The cultural center, exhibition
hall, the library Chatzopouleios, the
Archaeological Museum, City Hall, all
banks and services of the island and
any type of store you’re looking for
are all located on the beach

In winter, it is scenic with gray-green
waters, melancholic but gorgeous with mild
weather, ideal for strolls and mountain
trails.
Guests enjoy the warmth of the sun at the cafes in the morning
and have fun with raki and ouzo at taverns in the evening.
Poros is very lively even in the winter, especially on weekends-
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
